I should have a heading for my blogs

Don't worry, the above heading is totally unrelated to what I am going to write today. I just included a heading since I got a feedback to do so. Well, so I though lets do it for the fun of it. Also, I am writing this blog a little embarrassed since just in my previous post I had grandly criticized bloggers who were not regular with their blogs and look if it would have been a few more days I might have fallen into that category?

Well, there have been many personal developments but I would like to talk about a few things which are on my mind these days. The first one is the medias obsession with Anna Nicole Smith. I fail to understand why is she being given so much airtime? PrimeTime CNN is full with news about Anna Nicole. The reporters make every ditch attempt to interview anybody vaguely related to her, news channel covering the court room drama and then having long discussions about it. Why? I am sure there would be many such dramas happening across courtrooms in the country. Why doesn't it capture the interest of media? And more importantly, are the people watching the news channel actually interested to know about where Anna Nicole would be buried or who would get the authority over her baby? My god! I can't believe that people are so interested in such personal matters of people not even distantly acquainted with them. Anyhow, I think I have given enough of my precious time to this topic. Period.

Another interesting thing which is catching my attention is the way Cisco is trying to change its image from a mundane networking company specializing in routers and switches to a more humane touch with its newly launched propaganda of 'The Human Network'. I like the concept and the ad campaigns and the way Cisco is projecting the human network. People know about companies like Apple, Intel but when it comes to Cisco there is not much awareness even it definitely has played a major role in connecting people. Way to go.

There are other things on my mind but the time is running short. There are many things to be taken care of and I promise I would be back very soon.

Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines...

There are countless blogs on the net which have just a few entries or entries written months back or empty blogs...I get reminded of the above lines from the song 'Time' by none other than Pink Floyd on seeing such blogs. And to top it all, people have their blog links proudly publicised on their orkut accounts, web pages, chat messages and where not. I fail to understand why do people publicize their half hearted attempts. I can agree to the fact that maybe due to shortage of time or other priorities in life or maybe just due to lack of interest/ideas people do not continue with their blogs, but having these links displayed publicly and fooling the innocent junta to go visit such blogs is just not required. I feel that people open their blog site with much fanfare just to get onto the bandwagon, everybody is doing it so will I, but never do they introspect as to whether they would genuinely enjoy writing a blog? Whether they really want to write a blog or is it just die to peer pressure that they want to have a blog site or maybe just to be fashionable?

Anyhow, I was observing this phenomena of empty blogs for quite long but my patience was over today when I visited three blogs in 5 minutes and two of them had just one entry and one had a couple with the last entry done some 9 months ago....anyhow my best wishes with all the bloggers....I wish they would someday realize this and either delete their blogs or at least delete the links to their blog site from public places. Amen!
